In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Government has introduced the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) and Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) leading to implications for the operations of small and mid-size businesses. Our Tax Staff Essentials training has been updated with the impacts of the latest legislation in mind to help you best support your clients.
Four progressive levels
The courses are designed for new staff, managers, directors, partners, and owners of small and medium practices. Find the Tax Staff Essentials course that’s right for you.
Level 1 – New staff
This level covers key areas to ensure new tax professionals are well prepared to begin their careers and support their firms. They'll learn about individual, partnership, and S corporation tax compliance, effective online tax research techniques, clear and precise working paper documentation as well as effective professional business communications.
Level 2 – Experienced Staff
This level builds upon foundational tax knowledge by exploring the intricacies of the underlying accounting methods and property transactions. Staff will also delve into the taxation of corporations and a myriad of multistate tax issues. Key subject matters covered include inventory valuation and property transactions, which are essential for servicing more complex clients.
Level 3 – Senior/Supervisor
This level of Tax Staff essentials covers more complex areas for experienced specialists, focusing on understanding business strategies and competitive positioning, and converting this knowledge into tax planning and business advice. Key subject matter includes FASB ASC 740 and deferred income taxes, and estates and trusts.
Level 4 – Manager/Director
This level contains advanced technical training required to work with an organization’s most sophisticated clients, as well as those with tax controversy issues. The program includes an international tax course relevant to the increasing globalization of business. Taking this level provides tax managers and directors the tools they will need to offer existing clients additional services, as well as identifying possible areas for specialization.
